A lust for the day-to-day life

A wise woman – aka, my mother once said;

Some day’s nothing happens - other days loads happen

And although we got a little chuckle out of the statement – which was delivered on the day of my brother’s wedding – she’s not wrong!

Some days/weeks are really settled, we are in routine - life sails along - unchanged and perhaps a little predictable.

On the flipside, some days/weeks huge life altering events happen – such as a family wedding, a holiday of a lifetime, the arrival of a new baby, the beginning of a new career or perhaps, we embark on an epic physical & mental challenge….

Last week – lots happened – we celebrated our 7th year in business, our 4th year of marriage, we ‘threw down’ at the Irish Fitness Championships and Joe kayaked the length of the River Shannon with 5 friends & helped raise awareness and funds for a wonderful charity – A Lust for Life.

This nicely Segway’s into something we like to discuss regularly - the benefit of protecting and building a lust for your day-to-day life.

The weeks where ‘loads happens’, the exciting holidays and the epic adventures – of course they are incredibly important & create amazing core memories but, for most of us, they are fleeting – they are scarce – they are short-lived.

We live most of our lives in the ‘day to day’ so working to create purpose & happiness in our ‘normal’ routine will have the greatest impact on our life satisfaction & fulfilment.

When our ‘normal’ routine prepares us physically, mentally & emotionally to be in a position to accept opportunities as they arise – this is where the magic happens!

Move daily

Nourish your body

Stay connected

And perhaps most importantly - practise gratitude daily

Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance

Tick those four boxes daily & the difference you’ll experience physically, mentally and emotionally will be immense.

Simple? Yes

Easy? Not in the beginning

Worth it? 100%
