A Special Return to Coaching

Today marked a very special milestone for me personally — my first return to coaching since the arrival of our baby boy, Conan.

I hadn’t coached a class since September (I think), so stepping back onto the coaching floor today felt so good & pretty empowering.

The past few months have been a beautiful, exhausting, joyful and sometimes chaotic adjustment to a completely new life, so it was very fitting that my first class to lead, was coaching a group of mothers navigating this very same stage.

2026 is an important year for us personally and professionally – over the past 10 years we have visualised, created and grown ‘Wolfhound Fitness’ to a business, a community and a valued service which makes us so incredibly proud.

Although, 10 years seems like a long time, but in so many ways it still feels like we are just starting out, or as Joe likes to put it we’re only simmering….

With our 10th anniversary on the horizon, we are spending a lot of time reflecting on our core values, what matters most and how we want to spend the next 10 years (and beyond) at Wolfhound.

Training for ‘Every age and every stage’ of life.

From athletes looking to excel in their chosen sport, to someone looking to get a clean bill of health, to the older adult wanting to stay fit and healthy to play with their grandchildren – we know that our strength & conditioning will be key determinants in achieving these meaningful goals and therefore will be key determinants in our decision making and service growth and development.

Motherhood is one of the most profound life transitions many women will ever experience, and therefore, it’s no surprise that our training methods and goals may look a little different that they once did. Training in the gym needs to be supportive, adaptable and realistic. Some days will feel strong and energised. Others will feel slow, tired and heavy.

Our aim is to be a trusted source of guidance, support and expertise as you navigate this life phase - with the ultimate aim of helping you building meaningful strength, fitness and stability – supporting your physical health long into the future.

That’s why we are starting our postpartum Strength & Conditioning classes and there’s still time to come along to experience what we have to offer!

We will be here Thursday 12 – 1pm for our second trial session and would love to welcome any mothers who are curious about working with us.

Pre-booking essential- email katie@wolfhoundfitness.ie to secure your place.

Key information:

  • Babies are most welcome to come along but you can also come alone if that works out for you

  • We are happy for babies who are not walking to come along – crawlers are welcome, as we will have a play pen set up for their entertainment and containment!

  • We will not be running a ‘course’ as such, our aim is to have these classes on our weekly schedule all year round, with the opportunity for mothers to combine postpartum classes with regular classes and open gyms as their recovery progresses & availability/timings change. This also allows new mothers to get involved at a time that works best for them.

  • Membership – these classes will be covered with our general membership options:

Class Card

Unlimited Membership

  • Scheduling – full class scheduling will be finalised in the coming days

Babies, barbells and a bit of chaos — we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ps, if a baby cries mid-set or someone needs a snack break — that’s all part of the training too - this is a judgement free zone!!
